David Means Roseneath Plantation AngusRoseneath Plantation was established in 1845 in Gloster, Louisiana by William Burney Means the great great grandfather of David B Means III. The Means moved from South Carolina to the fertile hills of Northwest Louisiana in search of “new” cotton ground. The Means Family has engagement in production agriculture still today. Roseneath Plantation’s registered Angus herd began in 1964 with the purchase of a heifer calf from Dr. A. V. Young for a 4-H project. Roseneath Plantation with the intense use of A.I. and embryo transfer has expanded to over 150 females. With focus on fertility, structural correctness, high docility and overall balance in our EPDs Roseneath Plantation produces quality Angus cattle. We believe that our customers are best served by this time-tested approach and not by offering progeny from bulls advertised as the breed’s “hottest young sires.”
